Netanyahu Warns Gaza: “Israel Will Finish the Job” If Trump Plan Is Rejected
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a sharp warning to Hamas during a joint press conference with former U.S. President Donald Trump, after Trump unveiled his new peace proposal for Gaza.
Netanyahu made it clear that Israel would not tolerate any rejection or sabotage of Trump’s plan, which aims to end the war and reshape the future governance of Gaza.
“If Hamas rejects your plan, Mr. President, or if they supposedly accept it and then basically do everything to counter it, then Israel will finish the job by itself,” Netanyahu declared.
“This can be done the easy way, or it can be done the hard way — but it will be done.”
The Trump proposal, described as a 21-point plan, includes a ceasefire, the release of all Israeli hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, and a new administrative structure for Gaza without Hamas in power.
Netanyahu expressed his support for the plan, saying it matches Israel’s war objectives:
-
The return of hostages
-
The disarmament of Hamas
-
Ending Hamas’s political control in Gaza
-
Preventing future threats from the territory
“We didn’t fight this horrible fight to have Hamas stay in Gaza and threaten us again and again,” Netanyahu said.
The statement echoes Netanyahu’s earlier remarks at the United Nations, where he vowed that Israel would “finish the job” if Hamas failed to surrender.
